The instructors
Karen Snyder
Instructor
Karen Snyder is the Co-Founder and CEO of LiquidGym Canada Therapy and Training Centre. After a hockey injury on February 27, 2009 the concept of using hydrotherapy for both rehab and training became Karen’s focus. After much research from 2009 until 2013 LiquidGym opened November 6, 2013. Karen was first introduced to the Alinker by a LiquidGym member in 2017. As soon as she saw the bike, Karen realized how much potential it has, leading to the partnership between The Alinker Inventions and LiquidGym. Karen is hopeful that the Alinker Academy will be a great platform to grow the Alinker community and connect Alinker users around the world. She has witnessed first-hand the positive effects that the bike has had on people’s lives and appreciates being able to share that with others.  Karen has a degree from Acadia University in Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Recreation. As a Train the Trainer for the Canadian Red Cross Society and the Royal Life Saving Society, Karen was instrumental in the development of numerous aquatics programs in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. In 1982, Karen developed and implemented the Adapted Aquatics Program for the Canadian Red Cross in the province of New Brunswick and at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia. Karen brings her creativity to programming, building relationships, and moving into new markets.

Dawna Ramsay
Instructor - Yoga
Dawna Ramsay – Team LiquidGym. With more than 30 years in the health care sector, Dawna’s career has included a project to reduce social isolation of seniors in Ottawa. Dawna has been practising hatha yoga since 2008 and is a yoga teacher, specializing in Chair Yoga and Yoga for Kids. Along with courses in how to teach adult learners, she completed the canfitpro personal training course in 2017. Throughout years of practising yoga, Dawna learned how to modify her practice due to osteoarthritis and several injuries, including concussions. Her passion for yoga and its affect on her personal wellness, along with having an understanding of limitations due to injuries and mobility challenges allowed her to create a modified yoga program for the Alinker Academy. Dawna’s volunteer experience includes assisting Karen at LiquidGym to prepare Alinker participants for local races, sport crew member for wheelchair basketball, seated volleyball and cycling with Invictus Games 2017 and with Ottawa Therapy Dogs, where for five years she and her dog visited a home for adults with severe mental and physical disabilities.

Kristen Sarlo
Instructor
Kristen Sarlo is an Athletic Therapist and Kinesiologist at LiquidGym Canada Therapy and Training Centre, where she was first introduced to the Alinker. Upon seeing the bike, Kristen quickly realized its ability to help people stay mobile and began to use it with her clients. Over the last 12 years Kristen has worked with a wide variety of people and abilities, from young athletes rehabbing injuries to older individuals looking to start living a healthy active lifestyle. She has taken those experiences and has learned how to adapt exercise and make them functional for any individual. Kristen believes that the key to being successful and sticking with any form of exercise is to have fun while doing it. The Alinker is a great tool that can help people perform exercises that they normally would not be able to without its assistance. With the Alinker Academy, Kristen hopes to encourage others to be confident in their abilities and remain active with help from the Alinker.
